HOW TO AVOID TEMPTATIONS

We are placed in various situations in life that may lead us to temptations. Oftentimes, life seems to make a fool out of you- really trying your self-control. And before you knew it you're already hooked up!
Giving in to temptations may cost you a lot:
1. It ruins a good and faithful relationship once you betray your partner's trust;
2. It lowers one's self-esteem due to the feeling of having done something illicit;
3. A positive image;
4. Your PEACE OF MIND;
5. And worse- it may cost YOUR LIFE!

As I talked to a lot of people, giving in to temptations were rationalized in various lines:
1. "Hindi ko sinasadya, tao lang ako!" (I didn't mean it, I'm just human!)
2. "I wasn't aware, before I knew it- I was there already!"
3. "Masarap ang bawal..." (Forbidden things are tempting...)
4. "Life is too short, we have to make the most out of it!"

As I analyze each situation, I want to share some wisdom on HOW TO OVERCOME TEMPTATIONS earned through my own life's journey:
1. SEEK DIVINE HELP
Remember that we are only humans and if we just try to conquer the lure of the world by just ourselves, we might be overpowered by our own weaknesses. Ask for God's guidance and wisdom to guide you along the way and you'll never go wrong.

2. BE AWARE
How can you triumph over something you're not aware existing or in denial that temptations do exist? 'Wag kang deadma, or else, you will later on say the lines: "...before I knew it, it happened already!"

3. BEGIN WITH THE END IN MIND
Decide what you want to happen in your life, which path you want to take. Once you came up with the decision, let us say, you've decided to have a peaceful, loving relationship with your spouse, you will have enough reasons to say NO to things that could ruin it.

4. FOCUS ON MORE PRODUCTIVE THINGS
The more you are productive, the lesser is the chance to have your attention caught by unnecessary thoughts.

These are just some of the highlights, just keep focusing to succeed and overcome every temptations that may come your way. It is not a perfect world nor we are perfect, but the more we master ourselves the better we become.
